A Childhood Memory of Yellow Tulips
As we’ve been unpacking all the new spring pieces for the shop, I’ve found myself thinking a lot about tulips, especially since we’ve been unpacking so many of them lately.
Tulips have always felt special to me.
I was very young when my mom passed away, so I don’t have many clear memories from that time. But one that has stayed with me is a vase of yellow tulips sitting on our kitchen counter (yellow was her favourite).
I can still picture that kitchen so vividly. The cupboards. The drapes. The way the sun poured through the window and filled the room with warmth. We left that house when I was just five years old, and yet those small details remain.
It’s funny the things we remember.
Such a simple moment. A vase of flowers on the counter, and somehow it feels so big.
Maybe that’s why I love tulips so much. Every spring, when I bring them into my own home, it feels like a quiet reminder that new seasons come, light returns, and beauty shows up again, even after tough times.
This is a picture of my mom and I in the backyard of our home. I would have been about 4 years old here.
And so, it feels especially meaningful to say that our real touch tulips, the ones that were so popular last year, are back.
They’ll be available on the shop floor starting March 3, and they’ll also be available to order online. We’ve brought back the favourites you loved, and we’ve added some beautiful new styles and colours this year too.

Staff Favourite - Lovefresh Body Oil
This week, Lynn has chosen the Lovefresh Vanilla & Orange Body Oil along with the Everyday Wash. We’ve carried the Lovefresh brand for several years now, and it continues to be one of the most loved lines in our shop. It’s a Canadian, woman-owned brand, and all of their products are made with natural ingredients.
