Snow Outside, Spring Inside at The Lemonade Stand in Uxbridge, Ontario

This has to be one of the longest winters I can remember… and the snow!  The last time I remember snow like this was in the 80's, and I was just a kid then.  I remember enjoying it much more then - I mean who doesn't want a snow day from school?

Even though winter has felt endless here in Uxbridge, January was a busy month behind the scenes at The Lemonade Stand. I travelled to Atlanta at the beginning of the month and wrapped things up in Toronto at the end of January, sourcing beautiful new products for the shop — and I cannot wait for you to see them.

While I was in Atlanta, I even experienced my very first driverless Uber. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous at first — but it turned out to be an incredibly smooth (and fascinating) ride. It felt like a tiny glimpse into the future before heading back home to snowy Uxbridge.

Some of the fresh new finds have already started arriving in-store, with even more coming later this year for the holiday season.

A New Stationery & DIY Section

To help us all get through these long, cold winter days, we’ve added a brand new Stationery & DIY section at The Lemonade Stand in historic downtown Uxbridge.

You’ll now find:

Lately, we’ve been seeing such a strong shift back toward analogue, hands-on creativity. People are craving projects they can do at home, meaningful together time with family, and simple activities that offer a break from constant screen time. There’s something grounding about putting pen to paper, building something with your hands, or sitting at the table creating just for the joy of it.

Over the Christmas break, I built one of these DIY kits with my daughter, and it was such a lovely way to spend time together. I enjoyed it so much that I’ve already picked another one to try on my own. They’re beautifully made, relaxing to put together, and look amazing styled on a shelf once complete.  This is kit that we completed together:

Faux Flowers & Spring Home Décor 

We’ve also brought in the most beautiful real-touch and faux flowers, and they’re scattered throughout the shop, instantly creating a fresh spring feeling — even if the snow hasn’t disappeared yet.
